Job Description

Big Logistics company is looking for a reliable Accounts receivable Specialist to start ASAP.

Shift:                8am - 4:30pm, M-F

Pay:                 $18.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Collect on past due accounts;
  • Maintain customer accounts receivable records;
  • Mail out customer statements.  Any account that is past due 35 days or older, call and send past due reminder notice with statement;
  • Reconcile, prepare and mail out of 45, 60, 90, and 120 day notices. 
  • Meet monthly/quarterly with management to discuss accounts receivable;
  • Research and resolve charge back claims, short pays, and unauthorized deductions;
  • Contact customers and discuss why invoices are not being paid, notify Controller;
  • Audit documentation and verify that it matches the freight bill;
  • Send requested back-up to customers;
  • If the customer disputes the charges, work with the Billing/Rate Department to verify information;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of verifiable experience in a like position;
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Computer literate using MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors and all levels of employees;
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions;
  • Proven to be detail oriented;
  • Must have reasoning ability to define and work through problems/issues;
  • Must be able to multi-task.
