Job Description

Inventory Control Specialist with authority and responsibility to ensure that inventory needs are met for our current business needs and complies with requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standards.  Reporting directly to our Distribution Manager, this position maintains a high level of visibility internally, as well as externally with various automotive OEM’s and electronics manufacturers. The candidate must have at least five years experience in an inventory control role. This individual must be willing to develop and implement processes that continually improve our business, product quality, and reliability. The candidate must be a proven leader and a respected resource who can work with any level of the organization. The individual must be self motivated and self guided, and work diligently to support and advance our current cultural direction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive sales and consignment product matching purchase orders to packing slips and submit to Accounting department
  • Communicate with suppliers to source backorder ETA’s
  •  Update consignment and owned inventory fields to identify owned vs. consignment
  •  Create purchase orders via excel spreadsheet
  •  Implement new or modified process changes for all suppliers
  •  Perform analysis of inventory monthly to request authorization to scrap
  •  Perform analysis of inventory transfer to determine exact levels to transferfor JIT
  •  Keep track of remanufacturing ready spreadsheet on a continuous basis
  •  On a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, perform analysis of demand vs. stock on hand to determine order levels
  •  Monitor and create orders based on the lost sales report
  •  Fill orders with alternate part numbers to fill backorders
  •  Add ETA notes to orders that are on backorder
  •  Defective parts return
  •  E-mail suppliers reports with well written communication
  •  Work with distribution supervisor to pull inventory for modification or updates
  •  Setup new part numbers in the system with proper settings
  • Work with sales department to determine when to sell or scrap obsolete inventory in a timely manner

Job Requirements

Position requires at the minimum a high school education, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years work experience commensurate with the position requirements. We will not consider any candidates without inventory control experience. This position requires sound written, organizational, and communication skills. PC skills required include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Sharepoint; MS Dynamics AX ERP or Axapta experience is a plus.
