Quality Technician. Position pays between $15-19 (depending on experience) and the work schedule is Monday thru Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
The Quality Technician has the responsibility of working with the quality department in achieving the goal of zero defects. The Quality Technician will help coordinate the activities of the Quality department to improve the processes, procedures, and instructions. He/she shall also monitor auditing and corrective action activities to assure the process is maintained and provides continuous improvement to all of the processes of the facility. He/she shall also maintain the training and ‘Approved Supplier List’ programs as directed.
1. Responsibility for Quality of product in process:
a. Follow directives of department superiors in developing continuous improvement activities.
b. Monitor and maintain the quality system training program as described in the training procedures.
c. Monitor and maintain the ‘Approved Supplier List’, follow up on supplier corrective actions, and follow up with suppliers for any outstanding issues. Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality Assurance of any potential changes.
d. Coordinate with process engineering, manufacturing, and other departments, as necessary, where required to implement temporary or systemic process changes to continuously refine and optimize manufacturing methods.
e. Provide follow-up and verification activities of in-house and customer corrective action and audit results to assure corrective and preventive actions have been implemented.
f. Audit the internal processes to verify effectiveness of the procedures and training.
g. Perform other services as directed from the Director of Quality Assurance.
a. Administer customer requested corrective action requests and develop reports.
b. Maintain and review yield reports for discrete processes where needed.
c. Implementation or revision of process instructions, procedures, forms, or log sheets as required.
d. Through the Director of Quality Assurance, ensure that The company’s quality operating procedures/instructions reflect the most robust processing methods.
3. Customer Support:
a. Provide failure analysis and/or corrective action reports for customer-returned product.
b. Provide internal technical support for customer requested corrective actions.
a. Continuously improve the quality of work in the department, assist quality engineering to develop measurement parameters to track progress.
b. Work and provide support to aim toward a zero-defect facility.
c. Ensure that the department achieves and maintains the highest state of operational proficiency and readiness.
a. Qualified applicants must hold U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status
b. Minimum of a high-school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
c. Ability to use Windows based software such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Ability to use charting and statistical capabilities of programs.
d. Willing to work in an environment that is typical of manufacturing operations.
